MongoDB's mission is to empower innovators to create, transform, and disrupt industries by unleashing the power of software and data. We enable organizations of all sizes to easily build, scale, and run modern applications by helping them modernize legacy workloads, embrace innovation, and unleash AI. Our industry-leading developer data platform, MongoDB Atlas, is the only globally distributed, multi-cloud database and is available in more than 115 regions across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Atlas allows customers to build and run applications anywhere-on premises, or across cloud providers. With offices worldwide and over 175,000 new developers signing up to use MongoDB every month, it's no wonder that leading organizations, like Samsung and Toyota, trust MongoDB to build next-generation, AI-powered applications.

We're seeking a UI Engineer to join our Design Systems team. This team crafts the user experience for MongoDB customers by building React components and developer-friendly APIs that are leveraged across the MongoDB ecosystem.

What We Are Looking For In You

  • Possesses a solid understanding of JavaScript fundamentals, including familiarity with modern features (ES6+) and a desire to deepen knowledge of JavaScript APIs.
  • Has experience working with React to build interactive user interfaces.
  • Holds a good understanding of HTML and CSS, including best practices for responsive design and accessibility, with a willingness to learn more about web standards.
  • Exhibits foundational knowledge of various web technologies and frameworks, along with curiosity to explore new tools and practices in the industry.
  • Demonstrates the ability to write clean, maintainable code while understanding the principles of building resilient and scalable applications.
  • Maintains a meticulous approach to work, particularly in following design specifications and ensuring a polished final product.
  • Possesses experience or coursework in frontend development tools and practices, such as TypeScript, Webpack, or testing frameworks like Jest and React Testing Library.
  • Exhibits strong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with team members, share ideas, and seek feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Have a minimum of one quarter/semester remaining in university studies after the internship concludes. Graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Company sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates applying for certain roles.
