Abacus is looking to hire a Blueprint Specialist in the Capital Heights, MD area.

Job Duties Outline

• Access building plans and specs using online websites such as Building Connect, Procore and General Contractors
• Compile all requested products germane to our product offerings including but not limited to fencing, railing, guard rail, etc. after review of the entire scope of a project for direct / bid projects
• Coordinate with the Project Manager on overall scope as well as with those requesting the quote.
• Revise as required any material changes to the scope of work
• If required secure pricing from vendors for specific items
• Communicate with clients regarding items that require clarification
• Timely and accurate in work product
• Utilize Salesforce, Excel Spreadsheets and cost estimating programs

Job Requirements

• Experience in commercial construction estimating
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with both internal and external customers
• Detailed oriented and accurate in their product
• Maintain flexibility when site requirements are altered
• Ability to maintain focus and be able to multi-task
• Possess Computer and blueprint reading skills
• Mathematically competent
• Possess an awareness of Deadline and Commitments
• Jobsite visits (PPE -Personal Protect Equipment- provided by the company)
• Full-time position, hours for this position are in office, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
• This position would report to the Sales Manager and Assistant Sales Manager of the Commercial Department at our Capitol Heights Location.
• The Project Manager would be responsible for putting the bid / proposal package together with the pricing that is ultimately based on the compiled list of materials for said project.
