Your Role and Responsibilities  

As an Electrical Engineer I at Laser Thermal, you will assist in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components while also supporting manufacturing and production activities. Roughly 50% of your time will be spent in hands-on manufacturing and operations support, ensuring that products are built, tested, and delivered to quality standards. You will collaborate with product managers, senior engineers, and cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet performance, safety, and cost requirements. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain both design and manufacturing experience, develop technical expertise, and grow within a dynamic engineering environment. 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Work directly with manufacturing and operations teams for ~50% of your time, supporting assembly, production troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities. 

  • Assist in the design, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and components. 

  • Develop and review electrical schematics, diagrams, and specifications. 

  • Perform calculations and simulations to support design decisions. 

  • Support the selection of electrical components, materials, and hardware. 

  • Participate in product testing and validation, ensuring compliance with industry standards. 

  • Maintain thorough documentation of test activities, including test cases, procedures, and results, ensuring traceability to customer contracts. 

  • Assist in preparing technical documentation, reports, and presentations. 

  • Stay up to date with industry advancements, regulations, and best practices. 

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards in both engineering and manufacturing work. 

Required Qualifications  

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. 

  • Basic knowledge of circuit design, power distribution, and control systems. 

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment. 

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges. 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or prototyping environment. 

  • Familiarity with soldering, or electronics assembly practices. 

  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, quality control, or continuous improvement processes. 

  • Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in manufacturing environments. 

  • Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, or power supplies. 

  • Internship, co-op, or project experience in electrical engineering or manufacturing is a plus. This is an entry-level role.
