Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and material handling equipment to load, unload, move, and store materials within the facility. This role supports daily warehouse and production operations by ensuring materials are handled accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, or pallet jack as applicable) in a safe and efficient manner
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, or containers
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and supplies to designated locations
- Stack, stage, and organize materials in warehouse or production areas
- Verify materials against paperwork, pick tickets, or shipping documents
- Perform basic forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA regulations
- Assist with general warehouse or production duties as needed
Qualifications
- Previous forklift or material handling experience preferred
- Forklift certification a plus (or willingness to become certified)
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs as required
- Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and detail
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
- Warehouse or manufacturing setting
- Standing, walking, and forklift operation for extended periods
- Indoor environment; may include exposure to noise, dust, or temperature changes
