About the role
The In-House Legal Counsel supports Swish World Group by providing legal advice and operational legal support across the Group’s subsidiaries and jurisdictions. Reporting to the Group Chief Legal Officer (CLO), this role focuses on day-to-day legal matters, contract support, and compliance assistance within a global, remote-first organisation.
This is a practical, commercially minded legal role designed to enable business operations while managing legal risk.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory & Support
Provide legal advice on day-to-day operational and commercial matters
Support business teams with legal guidance aligned to Group policies and risk appetite
Escalate complex or high-risk matters to the Group CLO as required
Contracts & Commercial Matters
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and NDAs
Maintain and improve standard contract templates and clauses
Support contract approval workflows and record-keeping
Compliance & Policy Support
Assist with implementation and monitoring of compliance policies and procedures
Support data protection, privacy, and regulatory compliance initiatives
Assist with internal reviews, audits, and policy updates
Disputes & External Counsel Coordination
Support management of disputes, claims, and regulatory matters
Liaise with external counsel under direction of the Group CLO
Assist with case management and documentation
Documentation & Governance
Support corporate documentation, internal policies, and legal records
Maintain organised, accurate legal files and registers
Assist with legal research and risk assessments

Requirements
Experience
Experience in an in-house legal role or relevant law firm practice
Exposure to commercial, corporate, or regulatory legal work
Experience supporting technology, telecoms, SaaS, or services-based businesses is an advantage
Experience working in a remote or international environment preferred
Skills
Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
Good understanding of commercial contracts and risk management
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational and time-management abilities
Ability to work independently while collaborating with stakeholders
Qualifications
Qualified lawyer in at least one recognised jurisdiction (e.g. US, UK, EU, or equivalent)
Current licence to practise where required
