The purpose of this internship is to prepare college students for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the various functions of the Zebra Technologies organization. The program is designed to provide you with a full experience so that you can fully envision a career with Zebra. You will be positioned for success with training, exposure to all parts of the business, social activities, a professional mentor relationship and development sessions to help you discover your own performance edge!

The Software Engineering Team provides updates and new functionality to the Inventory Visibility portal for the 300 clients that use it to track their inventory events. This portal is a real time view into the current state of the clients inventory for various stores that are taking an inventory on that day.

Responsibilities

• The Software Engineer Intern will work on the notification service which:
• Allows the system to send out notifications to users via email or text message
• Integrates with multiple parts of the system
• Uses RabbitMQ to receive messages from the system and produce the appropriate notifications
• The Software Engineer Intern will also make additional updates to the admin portal including:
• Updates to the admin portal to allow various actions to be completed by the help desk to reduce production calls
• New functionality for reporting in the portal to allow users to know more about actions that have occurred
• Develop planning, organizational and leadership skills
• Increase technology knowledge and skills
• Develop team-based work proficiencies
• Develop interpersonal skills to connect with day-to-day business contacts through follow up activities
  
  

THIS IS A HYBRID INTERNSHIP LOCATED IN HOLTSVILLE, NY. THE EXPECTATION IS AT LEAST 3 DAYS OF IN-OFFICE ATTENDANCE.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate/graduate degree program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Must have an anticipated graduation date between 2026-2027 for undergraduate students and 2026-2030 for graduate students
• Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the C# or Java programming languages
• Familiarity with databases, SQL, and stored procedures
• Familiarity with HTML/CSS and JavaScript
• Familiarity with RabbitMQ
• Familiarity with Git
• Familiarity with full stack development
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
• Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow
• Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic, and/or extracurricular experiences
• Ability to collaborate as part of a team
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Salary: USD 29.00 - USD 40.00 Hourly

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
