The Specialist/ Sr Specialist, AAdvantage Business Acquisitions is part of the Commercial Division. This role is a key part of our SMB growth strategy, responsible for driving new customer acquisition and strategic partnerships. This role will be on the front lines of our SMB growth strategy, directly engaging small and medium-sized businesses to introduce them to the benefits of our SMB loyalty program. The role will also focus on identifying, onboarding, and activating partners—such as trade show organizers, industry associations, and SMB networks—to promote AAdvantage Business to their members and broader communities.  

What you'll do

  • Execute outbound sales campaigns via phone and email to generate new sign-ups for the AAdvantage Business program. 
  • Proactively identify and qualify SMB leads using sales tools and prospect lists, working toward weekly and monthly acquisition goals 
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition of AAdvantage Business, handle objections, and guide prospects through the enrollment process 
  • Leverage CRM systems to manage prospect pipelines, track performance, and document outreach activity
  • Identify, onboard, and activate strategic partners—including trade show organizers, industry associations, and SMB networks—to expand AAdvantage Business reach and engagement within targeted communities
  • Cultivate and manage high-impact relationships with key decision-makers at partner organizations to drive sustained collaboration and program advocacy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, and Product teams to ensure strategic alignment and seamless execution of sales initiatives 

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • 4 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing

Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience working with small and medium-sized businesses or in the loyalty program space
  • Knowledge of the airline industry and American Airlines' loyalty program
  • Experience with partner management and activation strategies 
  • Certification in marketing or sales (e.g. CMP, CEM)

Skills, Licenses, and Certifications 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g. Salesforce, Dynamics) and data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau)
