Substitute Teacher (Long-Term Assignment)

Middle School / High School | 9 :00 AM 4:00 PM (Flexible Schedule)

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher to join our academic team for assignments lasting two weeks or more.

The ideal candidate will provide classroom instruction, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure continuity of education during the absence of the regular teacher.

Responsibilities

• Report to your assigned classroom each morning before classes begin.

• Meet with the Director of Academics to review your assignment, class roster, subject area, and lesson plans.

• Follow school guidelines and expectations provided in the substitute teacher folder, including key contact information.

• Conduct classes as scheduled, ensuring all assignments and lesson materials are delivered effectively.

• Take and maintain accurate attendance records .

• Manage classroom behaviour and uphold a safe, structured learning environment.

• Step in to cover additional classes or duties as needed when other teachers are unavailable or in meetings.

• Adapt to school events such as testing days, assemblies, or special activities .

• Communicate promptly with staff for any classroom issues or assistance.

• Maintain flexibility and professionalism throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

• Ability to adapt quickly to schedule changes and new classroom environments.

• Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanour.

• Passion for supporting student learning and maintaining a positive school culture.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Typical hours: 9:00 AM 4:00 PM (may vary depending on school needs).

• Assignments may range from half days to full days , depending on daily requirements.

• Supportive staff and administration always available for guidance and assistance.
