Rubicon Foundation

Rubicon Foundation is a 15+ year old NGO, dedicated to creating positive change by helping people from diverse backgrounds. At Rubicon, our primary goal is to enable underserved communities to achieve financial independence. We help them achieve this goal through skill development, counseling, continuous mentoring, and connecting them to prospective employers.

Our mission is to empower individuals to lead secure lives through skill development, improved educational opportunities, and access to quality healthcare. Through various initiatives, we strive to connect with underserved communities and provide them with the necessary resources and tools for self-sustainability. Together, we work towards building a brighter and more secure future for everyone.

We understand the importance of digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and job-specific training in the real world. Our programs are carefully designed to cater to individual needs, providing the skills required to thrive in today’s ever-evolving landscape.

My childhood was spent in Pune, during challenging times after my parents' separation, my mother worked as a house help and it broke my heart to see her struggle for me. I took a part-time job as a helper at a shop to support my family while studying. Balancing responsibilities was tough, and it took a toll on me emotionally.
College life at Yashaswi Education Society's Institute of Management Science was also challenging. Juggling studies with a side job in sales demanded every ounce of my energy. It seemed like survival was the only goal, and I couldn’t focus on my dreams at all. One of my biggest challenges was entering the professional world without essential skills. When placement interviews came around, I felt like I was not prepared, and my resume lacked the shine it needed.
Then came the Rubicon Training Programme, a ray of hope. The trainers there weren't just teachers; they became mentors, understanding my struggles and guiding me step by step. They helped me craft a compelling resume and master the art of interviews. Through the programme, armed with newfound resume-building skills and a renewed sense of purpose, I stepped into the workforce. Today, as an Executive at Jones Lang Lasalle, I look back at the challenging times I've navigated with a sense of gratitude. The pride in my mother's eyes as she sees me overcome professional obstacles is a testament to the fight we've fought together.

My journey began in Selu, Parbhani district, where my father's electronics shop couldn't meet the needs of our family of 4. As the eldest child, I knew I had to support my father. I took on responsibilities early on, managing household chores and supporting my younger siblings' education alongside my studies at the Government College of Engineering, Selu.
I realised that just excelling academically wouldn't be enough for my dream job at an MNC. I needed a well-rounded personality, which led me to enroll in the Rubicon Training Programme.
They taught me how to express myself effectively in group discussions and be specific in stating my points. These skills transformed me, leading to three job offers that erased my earlier GD failures. Now, as an Assistant System Trainee at Tata Consultancy Services, I'm fulfilling my dream and supporting my family. My journey teaches that with the right guidance and hard work, dreams can be achieved.
