**Job Description:** Responsible for appropriate accessioning and labeling of surgical specimens, perform surgical gross examinations of small uncomplicated specimens, prepare gross tissue for frozen section. Provide additional support to Pathologists and/or Pathologists' Assistants as needed. Travel may be required to support sites with frozen section needs. **Education Qualifications:** Key Responsibilities: + Must maintain specimen integrity and identification according to established laboratory policies and procedures + Assists with answering phone calls and communication of suboptimal specimen inquires, maintain daily gross room inventory and stock supplies/benches + Responsible for instrument troubleshooting and maintenance related to grossing equipment Educational Requirements: Individuals must be qualified as high complexity testing personnel under the CLIA regulations. The minimum training/experience required of such personnel is: + An associate or bachelor degree in a chemical or biological science or medical laboratory technology, obtained from an accredited institution OR + Other route that qualifies for high complexity testing personnel under the CLIA regulations Preferred Qualifications: + 1-3 years pathology experience Employee Benefits at Essentia Health: At Essentia Health, we're committed to supporting your well-being, growth, and work-life balance.
